Cytokeratin 23 (KRT23) is a 422 amino acid intermediate filament protein. The human KRT23 gene is found on chromosome 17q21.2. Type I cytokeratins consist of acidic proteins which are organized in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains. The cytokeratin proteins have an essential role in differentiation, plus tissue specialization and function, and epithelial cells structure maintenance. Cytokeratins are portrayed to be differentiation markers in a number of epithelial cancers.
KRT23 antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis is 1:500 ~ 1:3000.
