NRTN Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a homodimeric non-glycosylated polypeptide chains consisting of two 102 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 23.4kDa.
NRTN belongs to the GDNF family of ligands, a distant member of the TGF-beta superfamily. NRTN, a ligand used to bind to GFRA2 receptors, signals through RET and a GPI-linked coreceptor, and promotes endurance of neuronal populations, controls the size of non-neuronal cell population such as haemopoietic cells and regulate the development and maintenance of the CNS. Mutation in NRTN results in Hirschsprung Disease.
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized NRTN in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 0.5mg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions. Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The biologically active as determined by its binding ability in a functional ELISA.
