C1QBP having the accession number of NP_001203 binds to the globular 'heads' of c1q thus inhibiting c1 activation. C1QBP interacts with a wide range of ligands and is implicated in cell signaling. C1QBP associates with C1r and C1s in order to yield the first component of the serum complement system.
