IL-6 Human Recombinant produced in HEK cells is a glycosylated monomer, having a molecular weight range of 26-30kDa due to glycosylation. The IL6 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Il-6 is a cytokine with a wide variety of biological functions: it plays an essential role in the final differentiation of b-cells into ig-secreting cells, it induces myeloma and plasmacytoma growth, it induces nerve cells differentiation, in hepatocytes it induces acute phase reactants.
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized IL-6 in sterile PBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant HSA. The activity was determined by the dose dependent stimulation of the proliferation of human TF-1 cells (human erythroleukemic indicator cell line) and is typically 0.2-1ng/ml.
