Oncostatin-M Human Recombinant produced in HEK cells is a glycosylated monomer, having a total molecular weight of 30kDa.The OSM is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Oncostatin M is a member of a cytokine family that includes leukemia-inhibitory factor, granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, and interleukin 6. This gene encodes a growth regulator which inhibits the proliferation of a number of tumor cell lines. It regulates cytokine production, including IL-6, G-CSF and GM-CSF from endothelial cells.
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized OSM in sterile water not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions. The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of human TF-1 cells (human erythroleukemic indicator cell line) and is typically 2-10ng/ml.
