sRANKL Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 176 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 20 kDa.
RANKL binds to tnfrsf11b/opg and to tnfrsf11a/rank. Osteoclast differentiation and activation factor. Augments the ability of dendritic cells to stimulate naive t-cell proliferation. May be an important regulator of interactions between t-cells and dendritic cells and may play a role in the regulation of the t-cell-dependent immune response. sRANKL may also play an important role in enhanced bone-resorption in humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy.
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized sRANKL in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O at a concentration of 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions. The activity is determined by a dose-dependent stimulation of IL-8 production in human PBMC and is typically less than 100ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 10,000 Units/mg.
