BMP-2 Human Recombinant produced in HEK cells is a glycosylated disulfide-linked homodimer, having a molecular weight range of 30-38kDa due to glycosylation. The BMP2 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
BMP2 belongs to the transforming growth factor-beta (TGFB) superfamily. Bone morphogenic protein induces bone formation. BMP2 is a candidate gene for the autosomal dominant disease of fibrodysplasia (myositis) ossificans progressiva.
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized BMP-2 in sterile 4mM HCl containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant HSA. The specific activity as determined by the dose dependent induction of alkaline phosphatase production in the ATDC-5 cell line (Mouse chondrogenic cell line) was found to be <60ng/ml.
